Founder/Founders: John Furneaux and Eric Typaldos
In a few sentences, tell us what your startup is all about!
Hive is the simplest collaboration platform for teams. It pulls everything—messaging, planning, files—onto a single platform. Try it for free at hive.com.
When was your startup founded? And what stage is your startup currently at?
2015 and we are at seed stage
Let us know a bit about your team, who are the key team members and what is their role?
John Furneaux’s whole career has been about helping teams improve collaboration. First, He implemented Sharepoint as a consultant at Capgemini. Then he became global head of customer success at huddle.com. All the while, he never saw tools that met the integrated platform needs of teams, with a consumer product experience. So he left Huddle to make that tool with my co-founder Eric Typaldos who’d previously worked on platform architecture for enterprise collaboration at Oracle and on MAX.gov at the White House. They launched out of the 2015 fall class of AngelPad. John is the CEO and Eric is the CTO.
Why did you choose this particular idea and concept to build your startup on?
|Most tools only cover one area of collaboration—chat, planning, files—and force you to invest in a whole productivity stack. These leaves teams fractured and inefficient.
John saw this over and over again as a consultant at Capgemini and later as global head of customer success at Huddle. So he set out with Eric to create more integrated platform that is really easy to use.
That’s what Hive does.
Manage your to-do list. Check on project progress. Chat with colleagues. Get updates from CRM. All. In. One. Place.
Finally, do you have any other comments or information about your product that you would like to add?
In one year, Hive has grown its customer base from zero to hundreds of enterprise teams, including WeWork, Expedia, and Harvard University.
