Untappd
Untappd is a mobile social network for beer enthusiasts. If you enjoy beer and drinking socially, yet responsibility, this iPhone, iPad, Android and Palm Pre App would be perfect to share pints with your friends on various social networks and allow location check-ins via Foursquare to let people know where you are. We previously discussed a website called DrinkUp, which was based out of Austin, Texas that brought to you places to drink in Austin and provided maps and information about various locations. But Untappd provides a more global approach by utilizing mobile web technologies to create a brand new social media tool for those who enjoy sipping a pint in the pub.
With social media support, users can ‘check-in’ the beverage they are enjoying, add the location where they are enjoying it from, via Foursquare, and share it with friends outside of the Untappd network. Postings can be made to your Twitter and Facebook account via API all through the Untappd website or the mobile web app at: http://m.untappd.com.
Updates are made in real time, so you can tell your friends where and what your enjoying, and hopefully they’ll come meet you for a pint! What do you think of this App? Would you use it to share where you drinking with friends?
