Over the past year we’ve seen our site grow considerably in terms of traffic and everyday readers. For that I thank you! At the same time however other sites have grown their startup content and have put a stronger focus on entrepreneurship making what was an untapped market overly saturated with discovery sites.
We pride ourselves in finding those gems that very few have found the time to share, but at the same time we know we can be doing so much more. Over the past year we tested different ideas internally on how we can grow New-Startups.com to grow past than a discovery site for innovative and fun ideas. None of them stuck and we continued on our current course until we pass on the right product for you.
This comment by Vocal Radar sums up what we also feel: “What a waste of a perfect domain name, at-least do something innovative for this site, turn this place into a Tech publishing platform and include a hub where new start ups have discussions and answer questions.”
As much as we love sharing with you ideas everyday and our Friday quick links, we know this can be a place for so much more. That being said we have a plan in place that we do hope to launch in the coming months.
What will New-Startups.com be? It’ll continue to be a place to discover startups, but it will also be a hub for aggregating content related to entrepreneurship similar to the startup network when we first launched. Our platform will also be a place for entrepreneurs to share their startup details in a way that isn’t as overwhelming as AngelList and more fun then CrunchBase. The new New-Startups.com will provide a forum focused on startup tools, questions and answers to be discussed but also help startup discovery for those looking to stay a top the tech scene. We find that so much is being falsely stated in the technology media causing a cloud of truth on why people leave startups, why startups are being swooped up, and the true state of various industries. Those are just a few of the concerns we want to tackle.
As our platform gets built out over the next few months, beta invites will be sent out to those that have submitted startup ideas on our current site, so look out in your emails! However, we also want your input. What would you like New-Startups.com to become and do better at? What information do you think the media isn’t sharing well enough for you to be more in the “know”? We want New-Startups.com to be more then a place of idea discovery but also a place that is useful for everyone. Please share what you wish in the comments section below.
