CitizenLab is a civic engagement platform on which citizens co-create their city. Citizens post ideas, interact on them, and upvote the best ones. On the other hand, the local government uses CitizenLab to let its citizens participate in its policy through crowdvoting (e.g. budget allocation). Their SaaS solution is the medium for smart governments to communicate with their citizens and to democratize city governance through citizen sourcing.
How it works
- Citizens post ideas on CitizenLab and describe how their city would benefit from it.
- Other citizens comment on these ideas and start a collective brainstorm with the city and fellow citizens.
- Citizens vote for the best ideas and show the city which proposals matter the most.
