MakersKit was founded with the purpose to inspire creativity. They share their favorite ideas and offer the best tools and supplies to make DIY projects fun and easy.

MakersKit founders Mike Stone and Jawn McQuade are two creative guys.

Mike is a serial entrepreneur who also volunteered as a grade school art teacher. Jawn went to film school while also working as a grade school teacher. Once they met, the duo quickly became the best of friends and within weeks they started their first project together, teaching DIY workshops in San Francisco. The side project took off and became quite popular. In order to keep up with demand, they created DIY kits that are paired with video tutorials so that anyone, anywhere can create something amazing.

That’s how MakersKit was born: the collab of two friends passionate about inspiring creativity.

MakersKit launched in 2014 and has gone on to partner with many amazing people and brands, including TOMS and National Geographic. Their DIY kits are available in over 5,000 stores like Macy’s, Urban Outfitters, West Elm, and Williams-Sonoma.

Mike and Jawn continue to give back with their Give a Kit Campaign in partnership with Pledge 1%. Your purchase of a kit on the website means they donate an art supply kit to a public school in your home state or country.

Over a quarter-million kits later, their mission remains the same: to inspire creativity in everyone.

The world needs them to help bring that spirit of creativity back into our busy lives. We start out as children being creative and dreaming up ideas but as we get older life happens and work happens and we just don’t have the time any more to be creative and work with our hands. MakersKit wants to bring that creativity back and give their customers an awesome, personal experience with products that they can be proud of.

MakersKit stands out because of their unique combination of engaging content and beautiful hand-crafted products which makes being creative super fun and easy.

MakersKit is headquartered in Los Angeles, where their kits are hand-crafted by expert makers.
