Although not a New Startup, Nike has been around for years and are a brand with a foothold in our society, but the message behind their recent initiative was something we had to bring to attention. Nike Better World is a message from the sports apparel giant, in which they state they will “be so environmentally friendly it will make you puke.”
By designing the best gear that will not only propel humanity forward, without wrecking the global process is a high achievement to attain and its exciting to hear the sports giant take that stance. For instance the Nike TR Fit, is built with environmentally preferred rubber, water-based cementing and recycled polyester.
Sports play an integral role in our lives and as Nike showcases, it brings forward a place where discrimination doesn’t exist, wars can be put to an end and everyone can participate. By taking the environmental stance the Nike organization is being proactive not only a marketing sense but in a way to help the world. Although there are surely a number of more diligent efforts organization like Nike can take to become even more environmentally friendly, the processes they are taking now, should inspire others to be more eco-aware within their own organizations. “Just Do It”.
