The Pitch by Josh Muccio and Sheel Mohnot, finds early stage startups, listens to their pitch and helps them raise money from their audience of angel investors. It’s like Shark Tank or Dragons’ Den, but in audio podcast form. The Pitch gives startups a launching pad for raising funds, and investors get to find out about brand new startups before anyone else. All on their morning commute. Eventually anyone (not just accredited investors) will be able to invest in startups featured on The Pitch via their syndicate.
As a result of building relationships with founders from locations around the world, Josh started to care about the individual startups he featured on his show. Sheel was watching Shark Tank and wanted to invest in one of the companies featured, but couldn’t. So when Sheel started listening to Josh’s podcast, he saw an opportunity to build a podcast that would allow anyone to invest in startups. So he reached out to Josh, and The Pitch was born.
The podcast format allows angel investors to look at deals during their commutes. Ultimately, The Pitch wants to make investing as easy as clicking a few buttons after listening to a podcast.
