In a few sentences, tell us what your start-up is all about!:
Wellbey.com is a website and mobile application aimed at helping users in the UAE find and book services at spas, salons, gyms and yoga studios. We connect over 45,000 users to places listed on Wellbey, allowing them to book instantly by phone or online.
Our goal is to facilitate the lives of people living in and visiting the UAE by giving them a convenient and efficient option to compare and find the perfect service they’re looking for directly on Wellbey.com
When was your startup founded? And what stage is your startup currently at?:
January 2016 ; Seed stage
Let us know a bit about your team, who are the key team members and what is their role?:
The Wellbey core team consists of 3 Co-Founders, with backgrounds in Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Software Development.
All Co-Founders have experience managing large sales and development teams at startups in Dubai, as well as 2 Co-Founders launching their own Digital Agency 3 years ago.
If applicable, what is your growth like? And what milestones has your startup achieved so far?:
Growth has been very high since January 2016, with currently over 40,000 active users per month. The milestones achieved have been relaunching our full website, introducing our online bookings capability, and the launch of our mobile app.
Why did you choose this particular idea and concept to build your start-up on?:
There is a large gap in the market in the UAE, as well as the MENA region. Having lived in Dubai for over 10 years, we were frustrated by the lack of online solutions for simple tasks such as even booking a massage or a manicure.
We chose the UAE and MENA beauty and wellbeing industry since these are experiencing exceptional growth. To add to that, the UAE also has one of the highest smartphone penetration rates, allowing us to target millions of residents as well as the large amount of tourists visiting Dubai and the UAE every year.
Do you have any customer feedback on your product and/or service that you could share?:
So far we have had great customer feedback from both providers as well as our Wellbey Users !
Are you looking for funding or are you open to partnership opportunities, and if so, what’s the best way for people to get in contact with you?:
We have been bootstrapping Wellbey since Day 1, as well as putting as many of our own resources from our previous business into Wellbey. Currently, we are in the funding process, on the look out for mutually beneficial partnerships, advisors/mentors, as well as investment from MENA based/focused Angels and VCs.
